Seamless Connections for Air Canada Passengers

Air Canada has taken a significant step forward in enhancing travel convenience by expanding its air-to-rail service in Europe and introducing it for the first time in Asia. Passengers can now book onward rail and bus connections in four additional countries—Italy, Spain, the UK, and South Korea—allowing for seamless multi-modal transport. This initiative is designed to protect travelers in case their flights are delayed, ensuring that their overall journey remains uninterrupted.

Expanded Rail Options in Europe

Since the launch of its intermodal travel service in December 2023, Air Canada has partnered with AccessRail, enabling customers to book various train and bus tickets under a single itinerary. In Italy, for example, passengers can connect to 30 destinations, such as Florence and Naples, through Trenitalia’s extensive rail network. Similarly, in Spain, travelers can take advantage of seamless connections to 24 locations with Renfe, Spain’s national rail operator, including popular cities like Granada and Cadiz.

Innovative Travel in Asia

For the first time, Air Canada is offering its air-to-rail connection service in Asia, specifically targeting travelers flying into Seoul Incheon International Airport. Passengers can now easily book an AREX express train to Seoul Station and continue their journey on a KTX high-speed train to cities such as Busan and Ulsan. Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s Executive Vice President of Revenue and Network Planning, emphasized that this expansion not only increases travel options but also provides sustainable solutions for short-haul segments of the journey.
