Introduction to Avelo’s Expansion
Avelo Airlines is setting the stage for a travel revolution in the Northeast with the addition of five new routes. This expansion opens up an array of domestic and international flights, thereby enhancing the travel options available to customers in the region.
New Routes to the Dominican Republic
One of the most exciting developments is Avelo’s new seasonal service from Hartford to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Travelers can enjoy more affordable flights to this tropical paradise, with operations commencing on February 21, 2025, and continuing through Labor Day weekend. This route will run twice a week, adding a valuable destination to Avelo’s growing network.
Domestic Route Additions
In addition to the international offerings, Avelo Airlines will also launch several new domestic routes. Starting February 14, 2025, year-round service to Jacksonville International Airport (JAX) will debut, followed closely by flights to Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) on March 7, 2025. Furthermore, during the peak summer season, Avelo will initiate routes to Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) on April 4, 2025, and to Portland International Jetport (PWM) commencing May 22, 2025. All these routes will operate twice weekly, making travel more accessible for residents of Connecticut.
According to Avelo’s CEO Andrew Levy, with 39 routes available, the airline is committed to providing Connecticut travelers with affordability, convenience, and variety. Avelo’s expansion marks a significant shift in the region’s travel landscape, as travelers now have access to routes that were historically limited.
