Avelo Airlines Introduces New Route to New Orleans
Low-cost airline Avelo Airlines continues to expand its services from its largest base in Connecticut, announcing the addition of new domestic and international routes. Starting November 14, Avelo will launch nonstop flights between Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY) and Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN). This new route will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays, utilizing Avelo’s fleet of Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft.
Flight Schedule and Details
The new route between New Haven and New Orleans will have the following schedule:
New Haven (HVN) to New Orleans (MSY): 7 a.m. to 9:29 a.m.
New Orleans (MSY) to New Haven (HVN): 10:14 a.m. to 2:21 p.m.
To celebrate the launch, Avelo is offering one-way fares starting at just $79, available for booking on their website or mobile app for a limited time.
Expansion in Puerto Rico Services
In addition to the new route to New Orleans, Avelo Airlines will also increase its service to Puerto Rico from New Haven, beginning on November 8. The popular route will see an increase from twice-weekly flights to four flights per week, operating on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This expansion allows travelers more flexibility and convenience when planning their trips to Puerto Rico.
Avelo Airlines’ Commitment to Growth
Avelo’s CEO, Andrew Levy, expressed pride in being Connecticut’s airline and emphasized the company’s ongoing growth in New Haven. He stated, “With 27 nonstop destinations to choose from at Tweed, it’s easier than ever for travelers to experience our convenient, affordable, and reliable air service.”
The airline, which began operations in 2021, primarily focuses on routes between smaller airports and larger destinations. Avelo has witnessed particular success from New Haven, serving over 2.4 million travelers to date. However, competition is set to increase later this year with the entry of Breeze Airways, which plans to launch nearly a dozen routes from the regional airport.
