Avelo Airlines Announces New Route to Atlanta

Avelo Airlines is set to expand its presence in the Delaware and Philadelphia region with the announcement of a brand-new service from Wilmington Airport (ILG) to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport (ATL). This new route will commence on November 8, with flights operating twice a week on Mondays and Fridays. To celebrate this addition, Avelo is offering flights starting at just $46 one-way, if purchased by August 13 for travel between November 8 and November 18.

Revival of Popular Florida Flights

In addition to the new route to Atlanta, Avelo Airlines is bringing back flights to several popular destinations in Florida. Starting November 7, the twice-weekly service to Daytona Beach International Airport (DAB) will operate on Thursdays and Sundays. The following day, November 8, Avelo will resume flights to Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), with services available on Mondays and Fridays. Finally, flights to Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport (SRQ) will restart on November 23, operating on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Significant Growth in Wilmington

This expansion signifies Avelo Airlines’ continued growth and commitment to the Wilmington area. Just over a year after resuming commercial flights to Wilmington Airport, Avelo will now offer nonstop flights to 13 different destinations from this location. The low-cost carrier utilizes Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft for these operations, maintaining its ultra-low-cost model while charging for extras such as seat assignments, checked bags, and carry-on bags.

Avelo’s Growing Network

Avelo Airlines, established in 2021, has shown significant growth in a short span. After reinvigorating commercial flights in Delaware in 2023, Avelo expanded its route network to include Puerto Rico last year and recently announced plans for its first international destinations in Mexico and Jamaica. This latest expansion to Atlanta and the resurrection of several Florida routes emphasize Avelo’s commitment to offering affordable and convenient travel options for its customers.
