Enjoying Mild December Temperatures

In December, visitors to Fort Worth, Texas, can expect mild temperatures that typically hover in the 50s. This favorable climate makes it an ideal time to explore the city’s historic attractions comfortably. One key highlight is the renowned Fort Worth Stockyards, where guests can witness a real cattle drive of longhorns twice daily, an experience that evokes the spirit of the Old West.

A Day at the Stockyards

During my visit to the Stockyards a year ago, I found the experience enthralling. I engaged in conversation with friendly cowboys and was astonished by the sheer size of the longhorns’ horns. The historic site once served as a bustling marketplace for cattle in the late 1800s, and today, it continues to charm visitors. After watching the cattle drive, families can enjoy the petting zoo or explore the unique shops along Mule Alley.

Evening Entertainment and Seasonal Attractions

As the sun sets, Fort Worth offers vibrant entertainment options. The honky-tonk Billy Bob’s Texas and the lively downtown district of Sundance Square invite visitors to unwind and sample local nightlife. During this festive season, hotels, shops, and streets throughout the city are festively decorated. Not to be missed is the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s stunning light installation, featuring over a million lights, running from November 22 to January 5, creating a wondrous winter atmosphere.
