Fly Fishing at Henry’s Fork
Ask any avid angler about fly fishing destinations out West, and there is a very good chance they’ll mention the renowned waters of Henry’s Fork. A tributary of the Snake River, Henry’s Fork is one of the greatest trout fisheries in the United States. Stretching over 110 miles from Big Springs to its confluence with the South Fork of the Snake River, the river attracts anglers from all over the world. Several of the most popular fishing sections are located in Island Park, Idaho, making it an angler’s paradise.
A Unique Stay at Yellowstone Peaks Hotel
While the lure of catching a brown or rainbow trout is always tempting, there was another reason I planned a trip to Island Park in June 2024: Yellowstone Peaks Hotel. This boutique property features 21 freestanding cabins, each offering a unique and luxurious stay. The rustic yet modern accommodations include wood-fired soaking tubs, a dry sauna, and communal cold plunges, promising a rejuvenating experience for all guests.
A Dream Concept Realized
Yellowstone Peaks Hotel is the brainchild of part-time Island Park residents and proprietors Mara and Blake Hansen. Their dream venture welcomed its first guests in May 2023 and has been captivating visitors ever since. Conveniently located off Island Park’s famous 33-mile-long Main Street—often referred to as the longest main street in the United States—the hotel’s location provides easy access to the best fishing spots and other local attractions.
A Memorable Experience in Island Park
Island Park is not just a destination for world-class fly fishing; it also offers a memorable and luxurious stay at Yellowstone Peaks Hotel. With its unique amenities and perfect location, the hotel complements the serene and picturesque setting of Island Park. Whether you are drawn by the allure of Henry’s Fork’s trout or the promise of relaxation, Island Park and Yellowstone Peaks Hotel make for an unforgettable trip.
