Hawaiian Airlines Expands Premium Travel Experience
Hawaiian Airlines has exciting news for travelers seeking an elevated experience at the airport. Following the merger with Alaska Airlines, the U.S. carrier has announced plans to open a new premium-only lounge at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL) in Honolulu. This announcement marks a significant step in reshaping the travel experience for high-class passengers.
A First-of-its-Kind Lounge in Honolulu
The upcoming lounge will be the first of its kind for both Hawaiian Airlines and Alaska Airlines, designed specifically for premium travelers. Expected to open by the end of 2027, this spacious sanctuary will be five times larger than the existing premier lounge at HNL. The new facility, situated at the mauka concourse in Terminal 1, aims to deliver a modern oasis that reflects the unique culture of Hawai‘i.
Enhancements to Gateway Experiences
According to Todd Traynor-Corey, Alaska’s Vice President of Guest Products and Experience, the lounge will significantly enhance guest satisfaction. With floor-to-ceiling windows providing stunning views of the tarmac, along with ample seating areas for dining and relaxation, it promises to be an inviting environment. While lounge access policies have yet to be revealed, it is anticipated that the space will cater to business and first-class passengers on long-haul routes to the continental U.S. and other international destinations, such as Japan and New Zealand.
In addition to the lounge, Hawaiian Airlines continues to invest in improving the traveler experience, including offering fast, free Starlink Wi-Fi on their A330 and A321neo aircraft. As they receive new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, featuring upgraded business-class seats, Hawaiian Airlines is committed to transforming travel for their customers.
