Introduction to the Revamped Lounge
Inside Newark Liberty International Airport, Lufthansa Airlines has unveiled a newly revamped lounge, completely redesigned to benefit travelers flying to Europe. This high-traffic facility has undergone a significant $10 million overhaul, aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and convenience.
Modern and Elegant Design
The 6,370 sq. ft. lounge features natural wood tones and calming lighting, creating a welcoming environment. Several different zones are incorporated to cater to travelers’ needs, including a conversation area, an independent work area, and private rooms for video or audio phone calls. Additionally, strategically positioned coffee, cold beverage, and bar areas facilitate smooth traffic flow, preventing overcrowding in any one location.
Inclusive Charging Stations
Lufthansa has prioritized the importance of keeping devices charged. The new lounge offers an assortment of wireless, USB-A, and USB-C chargers throughout the space. This initiative termed ‘inclusive charging’, aims to solve the common issue of travelers hunting for charging spots. With numerous USB plugs available, passengers can easily charge their devices without needing local adapters.
Local Inspirations
The lounge also takes inspiration from New Jersey, offering fresh local food such as jersey corn sweet bread and jersey tomato jam. For those looking to enjoy a taste of local brews, New Jersey craft beer is on tap. This element highlights Lufthansa’s commitment to providing an authentic local experience within the lounge.
Located near Gate 60, the lounge is open daily from 2:15 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EST, and sees two flights departing daily to both Frankfurt and Munich. Being a member of the Star Alliance, Lufthansa allows Star Alliance members or United Club pass holders to enjoy this newly upgraded lounge.
