Details of the Promotion

The percentage discount—40%, 45%, or 50%—is determined by the member’s status level with Southwest. With the maximum 50% discount, the cost of points is reduced from 3 cents to 1.5 cents per point. Points must be purchased in increments of 1,000, with a daily limit of 60,000 points. Notably, the daily limit resets each day, allowing members to buy as many points as they need over multiple days.

How to Redeem and Use Your Points

Rapid Rewards points can be redeemed for flights directly on the Southwest website or app. Travelers can toggle to ‘pay with points’ at checkout to see the exact cost in points for their desired flight. It is important to note that one-way tickets within the U.S. will incur a charge of $5.60 in taxes and fees. Additionally, while buying points can add to your balance for reward flights, they do not count toward the Companion Pass.
