Introduction to Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is Disney’s fan-favorite Halloween event held at the Magic Kingdom. Starting on Aug. 9 and running through Oct. 31, this special event requires its own ticket, apart from standard park admission. Despite the extra cost, the event’s unique offerings make it worth every penny.

Entertainment Highlights

The event is packed with must-see entertainment, including Mickey’s Boo-to-You Halloween Parade and Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular. The parade, led by the headless horseman, features classic Disney characters and spooky cavalcades, making it a priority for attendees. Jack Skellington hosts the spectacular fireworks show at Cinderella’s Castle, featuring music and projections from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Additionally, the “Hocus Pocus” Villain Spectacular brings Disney villains to life several times a night.

Rides and Attractions

Visitors can enjoy numerous rides with minimal waits during the five-hour party. Special event experiences at attractions start at 7 p.m., so arriving early allows guests to maximize their time on rides before the night’s main attractions begin. Popular options include trick-or-treating stops, character greetings, and experiencing classic rides with a Halloween twist.

Party Food and Drinks

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party offers exclusive snacks and beverages available at quick-service locations throughout the park. From themed desserts to festive drinks, there is something for every palate. Checking the Disney website beforehand helps in planning where to find and what to try during the event.

Character Appearances

The event is a fantastic opportunity for photos with Disney characters in their Halloween costumes. Guests can meet Mickey and friends, Stitch, Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger, along with rare characters like Jack Skellington and Sally from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Due to their popularity, lines can be long, so strategic planning is crucial.

Tickets and Dates

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party runs nearly 40 nights, with ticket prices ranging from $119 to $199. Special discounts are available for annual pass holders and Disney Vacation Club members. The event begins at 7 p.m., but ticket holders can enter the park at 4 p.m. Tickets are still available for select dates in September and October on the Disney World website.

Tips for a Perfect Night

Arrive early to make the most of your evening, ideally before 4 p.m. This allows extra time to enjoy some attractions and line up for popular character meet-and-greets. Wear a Disney-inspired costume to join in the festive spirit, but be sure to follow Disney’s costume guidelines to ensure entry and a fun, safe experience.
