Introduction to Enhanced Travel Options

In a significant development for travelers, American Airlines has made exploring South America more accessible and affordable. With the launch of a codeshare agreement with JetSMART, South America’s largest low-cost carrier, passengers can now enjoy seamless travel to popular destinations in countries such as Chile, Argentina, and Peru.

AAdvantage Program Expansion

American Airlines has further enhanced this partnership by integrating the AAdvantage program into JetSMART’s frequent flyer offerings. Effective immediately, travelers can earn AAdvantage miles on all JetSMART flights. This strategic move is aimed at providing customers with more low fares and diverse travel options throughout the region.

Incentives for Frequent Flyers

As part of this partnership, the earning rates for AAdvantage miles will vary based on the fare class booked. Every traveler, at minimum, will earn one loyalty point per dollar spent, with additional benefits for AAdvantage elite status members. Notably, top-tier executive platinum members can earn up to a 120 percent mileage bonus on their JetSMART fares. Furthermore, American Airlines is introducing targeted promotions that allow select members to earn loyalty points on redeemed miles, enhancing the rewards program even further.

This collaboration not only provides American Airlines customers with greater flexibility but also underlines the airline’s commitment to enhancing the frequent flyer experience. With these developments, 2023 is set to be a transformative year for travel to South America.
