Launching a New Journey
This fall, Amtrak enthusiasts and travelers can anticipate an exciting new adventure with the launch of the Floridian Line. This innovative route will connect Chicago to Miami, making its inaugural trip on November 10. Amtrak has created the Floridian to provide a seamless travel experience while temporarily combining the Capitol Limited and Silver Star lines to avoid disruptions due to construction activities in New York.
Comfort and Convenience
The Floridian Line aims to deliver an exceptional journey. According to Eliot Hamlisch, Amtrak’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, “the Floridian offers customers an exceptional and sustainable journey to great destinations.” This route will feature daily departures and will take approximately 47 hours to complete, including several planned stops at key locations such as Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Washington D.C., Orlando, and Tampa.
Onboard Amenities
Travelers will be pleased to know that the Floridian Line offers a variety of accommodations, including coach tickets, roomettes, and private bedrooms—all equipped with a dedicated attendant for turndown service and complimentary lounge access at major stations. Furthermore, onboard dining provides sumptuous options such as vegan chili or flat iron steak, ensuring a memorable culinary experience. With the Floridian Line set to enhance the connectivity between Chicago and Miami, it promises to be a notable addition to Amtrak’s roster.
