New Routes Launching in 2025
WestJet Airlines is set to expand its transborder schedule significantly, enhancing connectivity between Canada and the United States. Starting in May and June 2025, travelers can look forward to new nonstop flights from over two dozen U.S. airports to various destinations in Canada. Most notably, this expansion will introduce service for the first time to three new U.S. airports: Anchorage (ANC), Raleigh-Durham (RDU), and Salt Lake City (SLC).
Details of Nonstop Services
The inaugural flight from Anchorage to Calgary (YYC) will operate twice weekly, while the Raleigh-Durham to Calgary route will offer three flights weekly starting in June. Additionally, WestJet plans to run a 4x-weekly service connecting Minneapolis to Calgary, bolstering travel options between these key locations. This seasonal service showcases WestJet’s commitment to meeting the growing demand for transborder air travel.
Enhancing Year-Round Accessibility
WestJet is not only focusing on new routes but is also transitioning several existing seasonal flights to year-round service. This includes routes from Edmonton International Airport (YEG) to Salt Lake City, which will operate five times a week. Furthermore, flights from Edmonton to Chicago (ORD) will follow a 3x-weekly schedule seasonally from May to October. WestJet aims to streamline operations while supporting travelers’ needs for flexible and accessible flight options. In a statement, John Weatherill, WestJet’s Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, emphasized their commitment to connecting Canadians through this expanded schedule.
