Low-cost Allegiant Airlines plans to close its crew and aircraft base at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and reduce its routes by nearly a dozen early next year.

Starting Jan. 7, 2025, the airline will shift its operations over to the airport’s main terminal. The Central Texas airport, which has two terminals, has been undergoing major renovations since 2017. Allegiant Airlines currently flies out of the smaller South Terminal, which is scheduled to close soon as part of the larger construction plans.

Allegiant will significantly reduce services to the following destinations starting in January 2025:

Bozeman, MT (BZM)
Cincinnati (CVG)
Des Moines (DSM)
Eugene (EUG)
Grand Rapids (GRR)
Knoxville, TN (TYS)
Louisville (SDF)
Santa Ana (SNA)
Sarasota (SRQ)
Washington-Dulles (IAD)

Once renovations are complete, it’s possible that Allegiant could reestablish its crew base in the future. The new Concourse B at Austin Airport, slated to be finished by 2030, will house 10 more gates and a direct connection to the main Barbara Jordan Terminal.
